Children’s Mental Health Week starts tomorrow and this year’s theme is Let’s Connect.
Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections. Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing. When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of wellbeing. When our need for rewarding social connections is not met, we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely – which can have a negative impact on our mental health.
We will be exploring mental health with the children this week in class and whole school worship. This will culminate in Dress to Express day on Thursday 9th February where children can come to school in an outfit that expresses who they are or makes them feel good. This will be followed by a cake sale at the end of the day run by Fox and Owl class.
Please see the Learning tab on our website for more information on how to support your child with their mental wellness and connection.
